brain tumor medical bills

My mother was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme which is a terminal brain cancer. She was let go from her job and now the insurance has ran out. I am trying to seek some assistance just to help pay the medical bills and some of her household bills. She will not recover enough from this to ever go back to work. She was an emergency room nurse for 20 years. Any assistance will be appreciated.
