Keith Morine's Journey to Heart Transplant

9 years ago. Our Dad, Husband, Uncle, Brother and Grandpa, Keith Morine was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. Recently he was diagnosed with End stage Heart Failure. He was admitted in the Iowa City VA hospital ICU, waiting for a heart transplant. He was flown to Madison Wisconsin to await a heart transplant. Upon Arriving in Madison, Due to medical issues and long wait times, of up to 2 years,the amazing cardiology team in Madison Wisconsin VA decided to place an LVAD on his heart to assist his heart to pump. Currently he is in ICU recovering from surgery. And will be in the hospital for at least another month and when he is released they will have to stay in Madison for at least a month. When he is fully released to his home he will have to make 3 weekly trips to Madison Wisconsin for follow up appointments. My Dad has to have a support person/caregiver with him 24 hours a day. Our amazing mother Luann has taken an unpaid leave of absence from work to be with my Dad consistently since day one which has put our family in a financial hardship. Our family is hoping to reach out for a little help with Medical bills, travel expenses and daily living expenses for my Mom and Dad while they are in Madison Wisconsin.
