PENNIE'S BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT
Donation protected
Written by Pennie's sweet sister Ginger:
Allow me to introduce you to my sister, Pennie Pyle. She is 47 years old and married to her high school sweetheart, Jimmy Pyle. They have 2 children and 3 (of course, precious) grandchildren. Pennie has lived in a storm for most of her life. However you may never notice because she rolls with the waves so well. She has conquered many tribulations and numerous illnesses in her 47 years. She and Jimmy had finally reached a resting point - a time to enjoy the grandchildren and life in general. Then, as Pennie has almost become accustomed to, another storm hit her.
On October 30, 2012 Pennie was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). In this day of exceptional medical research most people with CML can take an oral medication to keep the leukemia under control for life. Pennie has been trying that route for over a year; however it is not working for her. Her medical team has suggested she move forward with a bone marrow transplant. A donor has been identified and the process has begun. Pennie will receive her treatment and transplant at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance in Seattle, Washington.
As you can imagine this is a very costly procedure. Apart from the medical and pharmaceutical expenses, she and her caregivers must live in Seattle for about six months. Pennie and her family are completely confident in her medical team and especially in the power of our God. We ask that you pray for her complete healing and along with that, consider making a donation to help cover the impending cost of treatment and care.
Thank you for any donation you are able to give. You can keep up with her progress on Facebook at Prayers for Pennie or on caringbridge.org. We are ready to get this transplant process completed, so Pennie can return to enjoying those precious grandchildren.
