7-A-Side Tournament
Donation protected
We are organising a 7-a-side football tournament on the 10th of April in order to raise awareness about testicular cancer amongst young men. The proceeds from this tournament will go to St Clare's Ward in Beaumont hospital. St Clare's Ward cares for patients undergoing cancer treatment. Your contribution will help make Beaumont Hospital better for patients and their families.
Through the tournament, we want to raise awareness for testicular cancer. In October 2018, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. At the time, I had no idea that testicular cancer was most common amongst men between the ages of 17-35.
I underwent surgery and after that everything went back to normal! However, in May 2019, during my final college exams, I was back in Beaumont and it was discovered that the cancer had spread to my stomach. I had to undergo 9 weeks of chemotherapy on St Clare's Ward.
I experienced first-hand just how hard the nurses work and how much help they need. The treatment was successful, and I have been out of the hospital since.
It is a 16-team tournament with 7 players per team. The entry fee is 70 euro per team. To enter a team please email [email redacted] with a team name and the names of the players. Unfortunately, due to insurance, all players must be 18+ on the day of the tournament. The tournament begins at 11 am and ends at 4 pm.
Following the tournament, there will be food/drinks and a raffle in the Carnegie court in the evening. Voluntary Donations will be accepted at the door. If you can’t make it and would still like to donate, you can still do so using Go Fund Me. All donations will be greatly appreciated and will go directly to St Clare’s Ward in Beaumont Hospital. Raffle tickets will also be available to purchase. This is an important cause and one that is close to my heart, so any contribution would be greatly appreciated.
Hope to see you all on the day.
