Maria didn't expect to hear the word "cancer" after what was supposed to be a simple biopsy.
Most people are terrified of that word.
In this case, cancer should be terrified of Maria - she has vowed to kick cancer's booty!
Maria has taken on the challenge of Hodgkin's Lymphoma ever since her diagnosis on February 6th, 2014, with her usual fierce vivacity. Her treatments began on the 21st of February. The chemotherapy is tough, but she wakes up each day more and more determined to beat the Hodgkin's into remission.
Unfortunately, her immune system is greatly compromised because of the chemo. The doctor has forbidden her from working for 6 months since she works in an environment with a lot of children, and they carry a lot of germs. This has added financial stress on top of the physical and emotional stress that she's already dealing with.
Though she does have some supplemental insurance, it will not cover the entire cost of her treatment, which is the reason for this page.
