National Three Peaks Challenge

Tax deductible
Welcome to our National Three Peaks Challenge fundraising page!

We are doing the national three peaks challenge for Cerebral Palsy Cymru  because it’s an incredible cause close to our hearts.

5 friends, 1 car, 1,000 miles by road, 24 miles to hike, 3,000 metres of ascent … to climb 3 mountain peaks in 3 countries in 24 hours.

Rose, Fero, Billy, Alex and I, Eli, are going to attempt to do the National Three Peaks Challenge. We will climb the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales:

·        Ben Nevis (4,413 ft – 1,345 m)
·        Scafell Pike (3,209 ft – 978 m)
·        Snowdon (3,560 ft – 1,085 m)

We are doing this not only as a personal challenge, but also to raise awareness and funding for Cerebral Palsy Cymru, an incredible charity close to all our hearts, especially mine.

In May 2018, I gave birth to my son Eddie four months early. It was a very tricky start to life for Eddie and our family. There were a couple of times where we thought we'd lose him, luckily Eddie fought through and after four traumatic months he got discharged. However, the story wasn't over. We realised his development would need additional support and this is where we found support from Cerebral Palsy Cymru.

Cerebral Palsy Cymru is a charity that supports children with Cerebral Palsy. Eddie had severe delays and weakness on the left side of his body (and still has). We were afraid that he would never crawl/sit/walk but with intensive physical therapy support from Cerebral Palsy Cymru Eddie has become very mobile on the floor already. It wasn't just Eddie that was supported; the charity cares for the whole family.

Donating is easy and effective:

£10 will buy a specialist torch to help guide children who have low vision
£15 will pay for the charity’s Family Support Coordinator to spend an hour providing support and advice to the parents of a new baby
£30 will pay for a specialist therapist to provide an initial assessment call to a family during the coronavirus crisis

The full story of Eddie's birth and development can be accessed at the following blog.

We’d appreciate any support you can give as we attempt the Three Peaks one after another! We’ll be posting updates with preparation and on the actual weekend as we do the challenge. Thank you very much!

Eli and her friends Rose, Alex, Fero and Billy
