LIFTING UP THE ZIMMERMAN FAMILY On a Monday morning in June of 2018, the Zimmerman family suffered a tragic loss. Sharron Zimmerman, RN passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident in LaPorte, IN. Sharron was a breath of fresh air to everyone she encountered. This was especially true for those who had the joy of sharing a life alongside Sharron. Her husband John and their two sons, Nicholas and Michael. Sharron was passionate about her nursing career and she always shared a positive attitude and lighthearted nature with her family and friends. Always with a smile. We now feel that the time has come to reach out to the Zimmerman family’s friends and co-workers to remember and honor her by becoming that same breath of fresh air that she not only shared with her family, but gifted upon many of those who knew her. Her two sons were also in the car that morning, and are now facing months of healing and rehabilitation due to their injuries in this same accident. It is our goal to raise funds for John, Nicholas and Michael – that will help with any potential medical costs, travel and lodging, and personal or household needs for all of them. Nicholas (28) and Michael (26) were both airlifted to Memorial Hospital of South Bend, IN after the accident. Both in critical condition. Nicholas had injuries to his pelvis and arm. He was released from the hospital after 12 days and begins rehabilitation at the end of August. They estimate at least eight weeks of physical therapy. Michael remains in the hospital. Currently, he is at Regency Porter Hospital in Portage, IN. where he is receiving the best of care. This means a two-hour round-trip drive for John a few times a week. In addition, the goal of his care team is to help him prepare for transfer to Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago for therapy that is even more extensive. His full recovery time could potentially be at least 10 -12 months. Your generous donation, of any amount, will be that breath of fresh air this family needs right now. If you are able to donate, we thank you in advance. Sharing this GoFundMe campaign on your social media account will also help get the word out and expand our reach. Please keep John, Michael and Nicholas in your prayers as well. Thank you and God bless you!
