My childhood best friend, Julie married my husband's childhood best friend, Shane. They are never getting rid of us! Julie and Shane have two beautiful children; Harlie (3) and Brady (5).

Shane has been having recent complication with severe tension headaches and blacking out. He was recently diagnosed with Chiari Malformation type 1 (adult onset). His scans have shown 100% blockage of his spinal fluid flow. Surgery is a necessity and will take place March 13th at the Mayfield Clinic in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Without surgery, many permanent complications such as paralysis are imminent. The brain surgery will consist of removing part of the cerebellum and a small portion of his skull to relieve the blockage that his brain is causing regarding his spinal fluid flow. This surgery has a recovery time of a minimum 10 weeks.  Here's the kicker: Shane's disability policy will only pay approximately 1/3 of his pay, and quite frankly, their insurance is terrible.  The family has an extremely high deductible and has to pay $4000 of it up front.  Julie is a hair stylist, so time off equals no income.

The goal of this account is to assist with rising medical bills as well as ensure that Julie is able to take time off in order to help with Shane's recovery.  Any contributions can help provide financial stability for this sweet family during an unexpected and difficult time!
