Travis Freeman Recovery Fund

Travis Freeman: Son, cyclist, friend, aspiring entrepeneur.  However you know him, you can't help but notice his drive and infectious positive attitude. Wherever he goes, he leaves people smiling in his wake and it's known among his friends that he would do anything for someone in need.  And now he needs us.

Travis was admitted to Riverside Hospital after being struck by a vehicle while cycling through town Friday, Feb, 28th.  He took proper precaution in wearing a helmet but his head still took the brunt of the impact.  Right now we know that his condition has stabilized but the road to recovery will be a long one.  Travis is a fighter; he is strong physically, mentally and sprititually.  But even the strongest of us need help on occasion.

HOW CAN I HELP?
As we all know medical care is expensive.  His family is surely missing work to be by his side right now.  They need to focus on the healing process while we as a community stand together to support them.  We can lift some of the burden by giving what we can to ensure the inevitable medical expenses do not overwhelm them.  All proceeds will be forwarded to the beneficiaries of this fund, Travis and his mother Wanda Freeman.

In the coming days, weeks and months they will require shoulders to cry on, and friends to lift their spririts.  Caring is more than just donating but being there when needed.  Let's all unite and do the right thing for Travis and his family.

UPDATE 3/10/14

This is what community looks like! Together we have raised over $7,000 in 7 days.

I spoke with Travis' mother again today and she had this to share with everyone, "Travis continues to improve, even opening his eyes. He will be in ICU for quite a while and will have a long rehab. Please continue to pray for his continued speedy recovery. His family is so very grateful for the love and support his friends have shown and amazed at the rallying of the community. You have all taken burdens from us and allowed us to focus on Travis and for that we will be forever grateful."

Travis is still in Neurological Intensive Care but his condition has stabilized. We have a more clear picture of what the road to recovery will look like and we know it will be a longer battle than many initially anticipated. With that being said many people in the community have approached me about raising the overall fundraiser goal for our friend and I completely agree. If we can raise this much this fast, we can surely stand by his side through the course of his rehabilitation. I ask you to stand with me as we push to raise $25,000 for our friend.

Thank you for your generosity and support.
