As you know, I started developing the idea for IT'S JUST MY LIFE almost 9 years ago and we have been performing IJML in Los Angeles for the last seven years, with great success. Yet, in spite of the wonderful feedback from all of our audiences, we have not received any critical acclaim, primarily due to the nature of the one off performances we do. You have to have a show run for at least 6 weeks in order to have critics come to review a show. Clearly, given the nature of IT'S JUST MY LIFE, at this point in time, that is not really an option.
So, in order to reach a broader audience and to garner some critical feedback, I have decided to enter IT'S JUST MY LIFE in the Hollywood Fringe Festival this June! It's a very exciting opportunity and a big step forward with the show. The festival runs for the month of June with all kinds of performances in all kinds of venues, running nearly 24 hours a day. The exposure will be a wonderful boost for IJML! We have booked the Lounge Theatre for several performances. But more info on that to come soon!
Of course, like everything else, it costs money to participate in the Hollywood Fringe Festival. So I'm asking for a little help from my friends...once again, to help finance this opportunity. The expenses include, but are not limited to, the Fringe entrance fee, the theatre rental, insurance, a tech person for each performance, marketing and publicity costs.
I can't tell you how much I am grateful for and humbled by your support of me personally and of the show over the years. It means the world to me.
So I ask for your support, once again, to take IJML to a much larger audience. In these times, I feel now more than ever, that the powerful and life affirming stories told by the strong and inspiring women of IJML are more important than ever before! Thank you in advance for helping me make It's Just My Life a big hit in the Hollywood Fringe Festival! Any amount is greatly appreciated!
