Help get me to Cameroon!

I can honestly say that now that I've been accepted into medical school, my next dream to work toward is to visit another country to help the people there by giving the gift of health.
This summer I will be spending the month of June in Cameroon along with six other first year medical students from Drexel University. We will have the opportunity to work with Dr. Georges Bwelle (a local surgeon and humanitarian leader) along with his team of volunteers who spend every weekend traveling to remote villages throughout the country to provide free health care. Last year Dr. Bwelle was named one of CNN's top ten Heroes of 2013!
Access to healthcare in Cameroon is unfortunately very limited and primarily focused in urban areas. With no medical insurance and a pay-as-you-go system, few citizens are actually able to afford health care. Even government funded vaccinations and medications reach few rural communities due to the lack of transportation infrastructure. Luckily, organizations like Dr. Bwelle's (ASCOVIME) reach out to these communities and help provide the medical support they desperately need.
Upon arriving in the villages, my classmates and I will assist Dr. Bwelle and his group in setting up a makeshift "hospital" to provide personal consultations, prescribe treatments and perform necessary surgeries.
I want to be able to look back at my summer and feel I helped to make a life changing difference in someone else's health, and this trip to Cameroon will allow me to do just that. Our time there is voluntary and the cost of the trip is the only thing standing between me and this life-changing experience. No donation is too small! Thank you all so very much in advance and I look forward to sharing my experiences with you all after I get back!
