Noah Humes Study Abroad Paris Trip

Dear Family and Friends,

More than a year ago, I felt passionate dislike for where I was, in general. At the University of Arizona, I spent nearly ten full months trying my best to get by each day and view the next. I finally made it through where I immediately worked on getting my application ready for OTIS College of Art and Design and, fortunately, I was accepted. At OTIS, I have been able to properly work on my craft and discover many great things to add to my repertoire. Now, an amazing life changing opportunity has been given to me. An opportunity to study abroad in the monumental Paris, France. Out of several students, I was hand picked to be a part of study abroad program. I feel so grateful.

This chance to study abroad means everything to me. Paris is one of those places that I feel every single artist and designer on this earth should visit. The magnificence that this city has to offer is incredible. I feel so grateful going to this school. I can go on and on explaining why, but to simplify it, I am thankful for the amazing teachers and great opportunities that are offered. My art has flourished here and I feel that I have found my purpose. I am ecstatic about visiting the Eiffel Tower, the Sacré Coeur, Notre-Dame, the Sainte Chapelle, the Arc de Triomphe, and many other monuments and locations. Visiting the Louvre Museum is an opportunity to glean from the great artists that have masterpieces there, like Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. To be around the different culture, the energy and the language, it's all remarkable and incredible. I have dreamed about pulling out my sketch pad and drawing what I see. I will seize every opportunity that I can to observe what it is I want to illustrate and complete it. I will meet new individuals, exchange information and ideally forge lifelong relationships. I will take advantage of this opportunity and not let any valuable moments slip through the cracks.

Otis School of Art and Design has made all of the travel and hotel arrangements for me which is awesome. However, the costs are on my student bill and they will need to be repaid at some point. In addition, I will need to take with me spending money to pay for meals and anything I may want to bring home.

Here is where I need your heart and support. I kindly and respectfully ask that you consider helping me with this project. My parents have always been there for me, but to me, this experience represents a part of my transition into the young man that I was taught to be. Raising funds is often a part of the process in art and I am humbled by those that have encouraged me. No donation is too small. And for your support, I will deliver to you a signed limited edition of an original piece of art by yours truly!

This request is time sensitive....My trip begins on Monday, March 10, 2014. I can't wait!!!!

Again, I reiterate, any amount is appreciated. However, your heart leads you is plenty! Thanking you in advance.

Blessings and Merci!

Love and Respect,

Noah Humes
