As most everyone knows, Austin Widener was born with a Unilateral Cleft Lip and Bilateral Cleft Palate. At his 4 month check up and his pre-op appointment for the cleft lip repair, the Doctor discovered a heart murmur. When a heart ultrasound was performed it revealed a VSD, Ventricular Septal Defect, aka "Hole in the heart." There is a moderate sized hole in the septum between the ventricles of his heart, which will require open heart surgery. The cleft lip surgery has been put aside now as the heart surgery takes top priority. Austin will now have to have 3 surgeries instead of 2, so I have started this donation link to help his family with any medical bills or any other financial needs to help our little Austin.
