Our friend, Wendy Williamson (our Wendy girl) has served our country, our families, and her community for many years. She successfully raised two incredible children on her own. Like many other single parents, life has given her ups and downs, joys and pains. Our girl has always met life’s challenges and trials with a glass half full mentality. Wendy is selfless and has always put others before herself. But right now, she needs your help.
In January of 2018 Wendy found out she has a 3 large masses in her neck. She has had numerous scans and a recent biopsy found traces of squamous cell carcinoma. On March 1, 2018, life threw Wendy a curve ball. She will be undergoing surgery to remove the masses. The out of pocket costs for her initial surgery are over $6,000. Additionally, she’ll require a follow up maxillofacial surgery estimating more than $5,000 out of pocket. She has already paid over $3,000 for her scans and biopsy.
Through this process Wendy has already used all of her sick time for 2018 and her surgery/recovery will use up all her vacation time. A surgeon will be cutting through her neck muscle, which will require physical therapy. These sessions will cause Wendy to miss even more work and pay. We are praying after these procedures, no other treatments will be needed.
As Wendy’s medical needs continue to grow; she could use any financial support you can spare, along with your prayers.
Wendy’s first surgery is scheduled for March 13, 2018 and we will keep everyone updated on her progress.
