Help Jeff Battle Cancer

Donation protected
My dad, Jeff Ward, a fifty-five-year-old father of two, was recently diagnosed with a metastasized squamous cell carcinoma of the throat and neck. If, like me, you did not pursue a degree in biology and wondered what that might mean, it means that my dad has cancer and that it has spread outward from its point of origin in his throat, to his lymphatic system, especially the lymph nodes of his neck. Because of its advancement into metastasis, he will need to undergo prompt treatment. Surgery has been ruled out as an option and instead, my father will undergo a two-month course of daily radiation and chemo-therapy. Generally, this is an arduous process with many adverse effects which can cause pain for months and will leave my father attenuated and unable to work. Though, it is my father’s path to good-health and with faith, he will walk that path, however tenuously, to a destination of strength and wellness.
Undoubtedly, my father is battling many grave anxieties, though despite these, he remains in good spirit and the resiliency of his already perseverant character grows daily as this incredible test confronts him. He is no stranger to the wills of an unhealthy body, losing his colon to ulcerative colitis as a young man and battling the pains of Crohn’s disease for many years as well, a disease which has hospitalized him on numerous occasions. While these battles pain my thoughts and memory, I am blessed to know that my father has fought life-endangering illness before and defeated them daringly. These experiences have given him the tools necessary to face illness with grace, maturity, and positivity, while fortifying his spirit through tribulation.
Unfortunately, my father’s battle with cancer is not only serious, it is expensive. He will soon have exponentially increased medical expenditures in addition to his current living expenses, all while being unable to work. This combination of circumstances can no doubt be understood by many Americans and it is my hope that with your help, my father will be able to focus solely on beating cancer and not the added anxiety of finance. My father is a good man and it is my hope that he, with your help, will fight this disease, conquer it, and move on to healthy, peaceful days.
Thank you for any and all contributions made to this gofundme, my family and I appreciate your help and well-wishes. May strength, positivity, and health find you in abundance, and if you too are experiencing any sort of trauma, please reach out. There are many caring people in this world that are ready to help when called upon.

Sincerely,
Max Ward
