Have a Heart for Adam MacDonald

Hi. You may have heard of my friend Adam MacDonald. He is a 28 year old, former student of mine who has lived his life with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. DMD affects the body, slowly robbing it of all muscular functions. The heart, of course, is a muscle. Adam has cardiomyopathy and is experiencing heart failure. He is in need of funds to send him to Cinncinati Children's Hospital to have evaluations to see if he is a good candidate for a LVAD (Left Ventricle Mechanical Assist Device). This hospital is the only hospital to have placed the device in DMD patients. It's his hope, and his mother's (AND MINE!), that he will be a good candidate for this device to prolong his heart health. The money you donate will help cover the cost of the appointment with Drs. Wong and Lorts, tests, and travel expenses. Currently his insurance, Maine Care, will not cover this. PLEASE help me help Adam, a young man who has worked selflessly for so many causes over so many years. Now it's our turn to help him!
