Todd Stevens: Kicking Cancer

Donation protected
Update 6/23/19:
It is with much sadness that we bring you this update. Todd passed away on 5/22/19, marking his almost year long battle with Stage 4 Bile Duct cancer. Thank you so very much to friends and family who have visited, commented, and donated to helping Todd and family on this journey. Your donations were used to support Todd's medical treatments throughout his care. We are leaving this Go Fund Me page up until the end of the year to honor Todd, and because outstanding medical bills are still factor. Thank you again to all for the ongoing support. A link to Todd's obituary can be found here .

Anyone that has come into contact with Todd Stevens will easily tell you stories of a man dedicated to making sure the people around him are happy and comfortable, are laughing and appreciating life. He loves talking to people, but what’s even better is that he loves getting to know them– about their day, about what makes them most happy, about anything. For as long as we can remember, Todd Stevens has been taking care of others. Now, it’s our turn to take care of him.

In June 2018, Todd was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct cancer). Neither he, nor we, saw it coming. This is a rare form of cancer, not typically diagnosed until the late stages. Surgery was performed in July on the spine area to remove the cancer they could. One of the scariest moments of all our lives was watching him leave for the operating room.

But luckily the surgery restored his ability to walk without extreme pain. Soon after, radiation treatments started which lasted 3 and half weeks. Once completed, the Chemo treatments started and are in progress now.

The cancer’s devastating arrival has left Todd unable to work at a job which fills his purpose of life - helping senior citizens enjoy the most out of their day at a senior care center. Treating the elderly as if they were his own family gave Todd a sense of duty, a sense of fulfillment. He’d come home from work, happy. He was truly happy.

Unfortunately, his days are no longer filled with the gossip from the older ladies down at the senior center. Which is why we need your help. Your help with this GoFundMe page will ease the stress of medical bills, but most importantly help take care of a man that’s dedicated his life to taking care of others.

There are things in this life that this cancer can never touch. It can never touch the strength of us, his team of family and friends to help him get through this – including two grandchildren who love to laugh and play with their grandpa.

He’s the type of dad that wants you to know how lucky you are to have what you have in life, the type of friend that will joke with you even if it’s been years, and is even the type of grandpa who will help his grandchildren sneak some M&Ms before dinner time, just to see them giggle with the sheer excitement of sharing a silly secret with their cool grandpa.

Join our team – let’s return all the years of smiles and laughs he’s given us and let him know how much we appreciate his care and friendship to the community

Thank you in advance for donating, for joining our family, and God bless and peace,
