Kaitlyn & Kenya Summer 2014

Hi Everyone, My name is Kaitlyn Vlieger and I am a Pre-Med student at CSULB. I aspire to one day become a pediatric oncologist. Prior to my medical school endeavours, I want to do something great to give back to the community and those in need. This summer I will be attending a trip with Love Volunteers to participate in a volunteer project in Kenya. I will be volunteering my time in the HIV/AIDS clinics, orphanages, and traveling from community to community, spreading awareness and educating the community. HIV/AIDS is an ever growing issue worldwide. Many individuals suffer due to lack of assistance and help from those who are willing to donate their time. I want to help shed some light on the issue as well as gain personal understanding of what is really going on. This will be an unforgettable experience for me and help me to gain a cultural competency that not many can say they have. Please help me, help the community and give back to a cause much larger than myself.
