Sarah's medical fund

As  many of you know my best friend Angel Litchfield Valentine and her family (John-husband, Jacob-son, Sarah-daughter) recently moved to Bahrain for her husband's employment. John served in the military all of his adult life (24 years) until retirement a couple years ago. Being a military man, he took a similar job with the US government. Several months ago he was offered a position in Bahrain, and as a family, they decided to embark on what they thought would be an adventure of a lifetime. They would all get to explore a different culture and lifestyle. The kids would get to study abroad and the family would get to travel different regions of the world. They arrived in Bahrain on January 25, 2018...which also happened to be Sarah's 15th birthday. With that being said, her dear daughter Sarah started having headaches not long after arriving in Bahrain. With the climate being different, the headaches didn't raise too many concerns. Sarah quickly became worse and didn’t seem to be herself. She became disoriented, and Angel and John realized it was more serious than just sinus pressure or headaches. She was taken to the local medical center, Bahrain Specialist Hospital. The medical staff immediately performed many test (blood tests, lumbar puncture, CT scans, MRI, etc). Within hours she slipped into an even more confused state of mind with memory loss and began to have seizures. The medical staff originally thought she was suffering from viral encephalitis and starting anti-viral medications. It continued to progress at a rapid rate and within days she would slip in and out of dillusion. She has not responded to the medication administered as quickly as the doctors hoped.  There is not a military hospital on the island, and any advance testing has to be sent off island. Results from all the tests performed can take as long as 2 weeks. Their insurance is refusing to pay for a medical flight to get her to a facility where results can be available quicker (off island). Her Bahraini medical team is being very proactive with Sarah's treatment even though they don't have definitive answers. They are continuing to treat her for encephalitis (viral and autoimmune), and they have also began treating her for Lyme disease.  Angel and John have been beside her day and night. Another issue they are facing is the way their insurance pays at their current location. They have to pay up front for all medical care. The reimbursement process takes between 60-90 days. They have exhausted their savings, and they know more expenses are coming. They are looking at many more tests and scans. The doctors are also advising that even with the treatments, she will be in the hispital for many weeks. I reach out to each and everyone of you to request any assistance you can spare at this time. NO amount is too small as every dime is greatly appreciated. Please pray for this sweet baby girl. She has such a bright future and huge heart.  Sarah's nickname is STORMY which describes her electrical personality perfectly. Angel and I have been friends since elementary school, so I have known Sarah since she was born. All money donated will be used to pay upfront medical expenses. The funds will directly deposited into Angel's bank account so they will have immediate access.
