Medical Bills

My name is David Weidenfeller and I am trying to raise funds to help a friend and family member who has stage 4 cancer and has no insurance. My friends name is Terry Cobb and he was diagnosed with stage 4 esophogeal cancer in November 2013. The cancer has spread to his liver, and lungs and as of yesterday has spread to his bones, per the last scan. He has also been put on a feeding tube, since he can no longer swallow whole food and has lost over 80 lbs since diagnosis.

Terry is a proud man and has worked hard all his life. He has 2 children, Danny, 19 and Lauren,17.


Terry has been receiving Chemotherapy at Parkland Hospital in Dallas and we hope to possibly get him into a clinical trial at MD Anderson, but there is lots of red tape there as well, and we don't have tons of time.

All this time Terry's medical bills are mounting and he has had to stop working to take treatments and try to rest and get well.
Terry wants to work, but hasn't got enough strength to do so.

So I am writing this page for my old friend, and hoping that people will help him. It doesn't have to be money, it can be a prayer, or words of encouragement to help him have hope in the face of this beast called cancer. When you have cancer, hope is so important.

I personally am a 12 year end stage lung cancer survivor, so I know the feelings Terry is going through and it's not easy. When someone tells you have an incurable disease and that they cannot cure you, it brings life into very clear focus and gives you a very different perspective of the world in every way.

So if you can please help this man in whatever way you can, it would be greatly appreciated nby so many. The picture I have posted is of myself and Terry(left), probably 20 years ago when we were young men after a day of fishing, good times. But that was a long time ago, and today is not so good.
