Medical Bills for Sarah

We are raising money to help us help our beautiful and amazing daughter 10 year old daughter Sarah.  Sarah was born with a very rare and life threatening seizures called "Infantile Spasms". When she was 8 months old, she had to have brain surgery where surgeons did all they could to seperate the right hemisphere from the left. The right side of her brain was severly damaged and was full of seizure activity. This was suppose to keep the seizures from crossing over to the left, but unfortunately it has been confirmed from several EEG's they have come back. Our daughter is non-verbal, has been diagnosed with autism, she is 100% gtube fed, has extremely high sensory processing issues and is having increased behavorial issues. A new development has occured which is constant facial twitching. We need to take her back to UCLA Medical Center where she had her brain surgery. Its been dicussed that a 2nd surgery may be need. All of this is inpeading her ability to learn. We are so scared that if we do not get the sensory needs under control, we wont be able to get the behaviors under control. If we dont get the behaviors under control, then she wont be able to stay in her current school. This will also impact her ablility to start to learn to eat by mouth too. She is so bright, funny, and amazing. We decided to tackle what we feel is the center of it all and its her sensory processing disorder. This is what we need to help us help her. * Sending Sarah over the summer to an intensive Sensory Processing Therapy Center. Here they can see her 2 hours a day 5 days a week for 2 weeks. They will help us design a program that specifically fits her needs. The cost of this is $90.00 per day. * We will then need the therapy equiment here at home, such as a platform swing, weighted vest, ballpit, and some sort of sensory area in her room. This cost could be up to $500.00* Sending Sarah to a homopathic doctor to see if supplements will help with the autism part. This cost is aproximately $300.00 plus additional monthly supplements which could range from $100.00 to $300.00 per month. * Travel expenses to UCLA Medical Center for a current evaulation of her seizures. Here they will tell us how extreme her seizures are and evaulate her for a second surgery. This is where it will be costly. We estimate with travel and hotel expenses this will cost us around $3,000.00 or more. We, her parents, do not want anything for ourselves. All we want is to help her the very best we can.Any help at all for us to help her and give her the best quality of life would be forever appreciated and grateful to all of you.
