Help Ease Henry's Journey

In lieu of flowers and cards, we have decided to start this fundraiser to ask for love offerings from family and friends to assist with the burial expenses of my uncle, Henry White. Increasingly, in these tight economic times in which earning a living is a daily struggle, there's little money left over when death visits.  Henry has been disabled for the past 42 years. This past July, Henry was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer.  Even with medicare, Henry had to meet a $7900 deductible.  On top of the deductible, he had to pay a $50 co pay each time he visited the doctor's office.  These unplanned expenses has wiped out the family's savings.   Henry and Marion live with my cousin Lois and her family.  Once Henry was diagnosed, the family took out burial insurance.  It came with a stipulation that Henry had to live for 2 years before the policy would be honored.  Unfortunately, Henry will not make the 2 years.  Henry is at home with Hospice care preparing to enter the Golden Gates of Heaven.

A death in the family heaps grief and added expense atop of an already stressful situation.  There's often no choice but to reach out.  Pride has gone out the window. We will be having an in home service to save on his expenses.  Everyone knows we're going to die, but we don't think it's going to happen in the next few days.   All of a sudden, you've got the grief and the financial pressures.  It's rough.  It's very, very difficult for the family. 

The anguish on all sides begins is palpable because the financial stress begins with a loss far more menaingful than money:

That of life itself.

No donation is too small.  It's the thought that counts.  The instinct to take care of one's own and bury our loved one is a strong one.  It's what makes us human, what binds us as families.
