Our names are Mathew and Marianne Primack. We have been married for 11 years and have 2 beautiful daughters, Norah age 9, and Nina age 6. 4 1/2 years ago God called our family to an amazing journey of adoption of a beautiful girl in Ethiopia, named "E". E is 15 years old and has lived in an orphanage for most of her life. We learned about E through some friends of ours who had adopted from Ethiopia. Their daughter, Hana, talks constantly about her best friend E in Ethiopia and how she prays someone will adopt her.....and how she misses her terribly. We heard this story from this sweet young girl, and just knew we had to adopt E.
The story gets even better-- we found out that another one of E's best friends from the orphanage in Ethiopia was adopted to the town right next to ours! The 3 best friends from an orphanage in Ethiopia have the opportunity to all live within 30 minutes from each other here in the United States! We knew from the moment we heard about E that she was meant to be our daughter.
About a year after we began this journey of adoption, Marianne travelled over to Ethiopia to meet and visit with E---it was an incredible journey. Marianne and E were able to bond and spend time together. While on that trip Marianne met another little girl named "Y". Y is 11 years old with Cerebral Palsy. Y attached her self to Marianne during this trip and wouldn't let her go---it was clear that Y had chosen Marianne as her mom. Upon Marianne's return home to the United States, she couldn't get Y out of her mind.....and after much prayer and thought, we decided to adopt Y too.
So here we are, just a middle-working class family on a journey to adopt 2 girls from half way around the world. We know the challenges we will face will be tough----to parent a teenager who doesnt speak our language, and a young girl with Cerebral Palsy who also doesn't speak our language. But we know that God has called us to this journey, and we trust His plan for our lives.
It has been 4 1/2 years since we started this journey, and the road has been long and hard. We have faced countless struggles and delays......but God has answered our prayers and we are heading to Ethiopia this week to adopt our girls!!!!!! God is faithful!
