Jaylea's Medical Bills

Donation protected
On Wednesday Feb 19th, while the Heim family was down in Orlando on vacation, Jaylea's parents (Leah & Jason Heim) took her to an Urgent Care facility after the flu like syptoms she was battling with for a couple days had gotten worse.  The facility then rushed her to a local hospital and that hosptial in turn rushed her to "Florida Hospital for Children" in Orlando with close to 80% fluid blockage in and around one lung and close to 20% in and around the other.  She is still currently in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with a breathing tube as well as a chest tube for fluid to drain...not to mention all the wires for monitoring her vitals.  They diagnossed her with the pneumonia after dealing with the H1N1 strain of flu.  Since she is a 7yr old and a scared little girl, they had to sedate her because of the tubes and to help her body rest.

This past Friday Feb 21st, Jason drove Jaylea's other siblings (Taylor, Gibson, Trinity & Parker) back home to Levittown, PA (which will be taken care by family) while Leah stayed with Jaylea.  He will be flying back down on Monday Feb 24th (1:15pm flight) to be with them and are staying at the local Ronald McDonald House.  Jaylea will be having another procedure done today (Monday Feb 24th) to extract more fluids out of her lungs.

Since Jason is a Youth & Worship Pastor and is currently in a transition period with switching churches, the family's reserve finances are taking a very, very serious hit with these unexpected expenses (rental van to drive kids back home, airfare to fly back down, hospital deductables, co-insurance, etc.).  They do have health insurance from their previous church up through the end of this year, which is an extreme blessing, but the health insurance will only cover so much.  We know that setting a goal is extremely difficult and the total amount of bills could easly surpass the goal amount set and may need to be changed.  We have also decided that any money leftover from paying her medical bills, will be put into a fund down at the "Florida Hosptial for Children" for other families who find themselves in a similar situation.

If you would like to help them financially, please feel free to donate.  All money will be going to the Heim family.  We also ask that you please continue to pray for Jaylea to get better quickly, for peace for Jason & Leah and for continued good health for the other four children.  Thank you for all you can give.

Sincerely,
Kevin & Celeste Williams (Family)

PS...Update... As of March 13th, Jaylea was released and is doing much better.  She and her parents are looking forward to coming home.  They will be taking the Amtrak Auto Train to help minimize any stress to her little body and her parents that a 20 some hour drive would be all the way up I95.  They will be coming into the area on Sunday around 3ish where they will be transferred to one of Newportville Fire Company trucks and will lead a mini parade of fire appartus from all over the area as well as a local classic car group and firefighter motorcycle club.  They will make their way over to their house in the Red Cedar section of Levittown, PA.  We wanted to show Jaylea and her parents that we are all glad to have them back home.  She will still need to have breathing treatments and therapy, but it's all looking up:)

We wanted to continue to let everyone know that they are so very thankful to the local Ronald McDonald House and their hospitality.  They are truly gratefull for everyone's giving and are very hopefull that there will be money leftover after paying her bills to "pay it forward" to the Ronald McDonald House as well as the family with the very sick 2 month old baby boy in the neighbouring room.  We hope and pray for continued wellness for Jaylea and look forward to the day when she is back to running around like any child back at their home with the rest of the family.
