Click to read: SIU Press Release about Security Dawgs
With devastating cyber attacks on the rise, the demand for cyber security professionals is growing faster than anyone ever imagined. Leaders and innovators from the industry, along with government agencies, are coming together to help train the cyber security experts of tomorrow. The Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC) was founded to help prepare students to protect simulated corporate computer systems against a series of cyber attacks. The SIU Security Dawgs compete every year to test their skills and knowledge against some of the most brilliant penetration testers in the United States.
"‹The SIU Security Dawgs have had success participating in the CCDC events, including first place finishes in the Illinois state event for 2013 and 2014. As Illinois state champions, the SIU Security Dawgs will represent our state in the Midwest CCDC regional competition at Moraine Valley Community College in the Chicago suburbs on March 28th and 29th. To get to the Midwest Regional competition, the Security Dawgs are asking for your help. Your contribution will help fund the team's travel expenses to compete in the Midwest CCDC. Any funds left over at the end of the CCDC season will be saved for use for future SIU Security Dawgs events.
