Preemie Parker LaFever, born at 25 weeks

Baby Parker, my precious granddaughter, was born on December 28th and weighed in at 1 pound, 1 ounce! She is still in the NICU at University of California Hospital in San Francisco. Her parents, Mandy Inches and my son, Martin LaFever, are close by. Mandy spends most of her days at the hospital. Parker is making great progress each day with the wonderful care she is receiving at UCSF!!
Mandy and Martin are virtually indigent, having spent the last 4-5 years on the streets or living in a tiny Dophin RV. Martin has a difficult time getting work as he has been labeled a felon for various drug and alcohol infractions. He spent his time in jail years ago and paid his debt, but it still follows him wherever he goes. He is a citizen of the Northern Cheyenne Nation in Montana.
Baby Parker will not be released from the hospital, when the time comes, unless her parents can provide a healthy home for her. The state of California is covering her medical expenses and also using her as a research subject because she is one of the youngest preemies (@ 6 months) ever born in their area!
Parker will have many needs when she gets released...safe car seat, crib, clothes, diapers, food, a safe and comfortable apartment/house/place to live.
Martin's Dad, Dick LaFever, his wife, Mary (from Anchorage, AK), and I (from Albuquerque, NM) are hoping that our Facebook Family will help us with whatever they can give monetarily. The kids have no place to store any baby items, at this point, so we hope to raise $5,000 to give them a good start at raising this tiny little girl!
