Building eyelids for Buggy the kitten

Many of you know that we have been fostering cats and kittens for Portsmouth Humane Society for a few years now. Little Miss Ashley-Taylor (but we call her Buggy) is our 29th foster kitten and has been with us since November 2013 while waiting for surgery to build the inner eyelids that she was born without. We just found out that her surgery donation in New York fell through. So Jason and I are helping the shelter raise the $2200 needed to build her eyelids. With your help and donation a very talented vet will take skin grafts from Buggy's thigh to build the inner eyelids that she was born without. Right now her missing eyelids allow her fur to touch her eyeballs, sometimes getting stuck, causing irritation and pain.

Even with these eye problems and pain she is a pretty happy girl who loves to perch on our shoulders, give kisses with her adorable pink nose, and chase the heck out of catnip toys and laser pointers. If we can raise enough money for surgery to heal her eyes she will finally be ready to be adopted into the forever home she deserves.
