7'2" Basketball Player V. Trombone

Donation protected

On March 23, 2018, Syracuse and Duke met in Omaha, Nebraska to compete for a spot in the Elite Eight of the NCAA March Madness Basketball Tournament. Ready to cheer on the team, 29 members of the Sour Sitrus Society, Syracuse University's Pep Band, sat eagerly behind the basket. One of these members included Eddie Schwering, a fourth-year member of the pep band. Eddie's infectious enthusiasm during the game cosmically attracted Paschal Chukwu, a 7'2" center for Syracuse, over to where the Sour Sitrus Society was seated. While trying to keep the basketball inbound, Chukwu fell into the band and a cameraman shooting the game. The band breathed a sigh of relief when Chukwu stood up, ran back on the court, and everyone came out unharmed. However, Eddie lifted up his trombone and discovered that part of it had been dented and was no longer able to make sweet music.

We would love to raise money for Eddie to help him repair his personal trombone. He made an investment on this trombone because of his love for band and deserves to continue to play on his own instrument. Eddie embodies what a pep band is all about. He is always full of energy and a positive spirit and attitude during every single game, win or lose. Please help us give back to Eddie who has always been so supportive and dedicated to cheering on Syracuse during his past four years!
