<div>Across Sep–Oct 2025, I’ll solo kayak the full 700km (440 miles) length of Lake Tanganyika — Africa’s longest lake and world's second largest lake — to raise funds for the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a pioneering conservation organisation operating in Kenya. The mission will see me passing through 3 African countries - Zambia, Tanzania and Burundi.

<div>I hope to inspire a love for the natural world, encourage the non-intrusive exploration of our planet, and celebrate the beauty of my home continent — Africa. In doing so, I aim to draw attention to those working to halt nature’s rapid retreat. The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is at the forefront of nature conservation, ensuring that future generations can continue to experience our wild spaces and beautiful animals.

<div>The Trust is best known for pioneering elephant and rhino conservation — two species that embody the strength, resilience, and spirit of Africa. I can think of no greater pursuit than their protection. I hope to play my own small part in this effort. Please join me, and with your support, we can make real change in this world.

<div>The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s impact spans every corner of conservation. Their orphan rehabilitation programme has successfully raised 322 orphaned elephants, with 197 now living wild.

<div>Through anti-poaching and protection, 29 dedicated teams patrol over 70 000 km each year, safeguarding vulnerable wildlife. Their wildlife veterinary units have treated more than 8 400 wild animals, including over 3 000 elephants, using six mobile units and one aerial unit.

<div>In water and climate resilience, they deliver millions of litres of water to drought-stricken regions and have propagated over 12 million trees, helping restore and protect critical habitats.
