Grace's Cancer Fund

Donation protected
Our names are Monika and Hanna, and our mom's name is Grace.  Grace, or mom as we like to call her, is a wonderful person. She is generous (would give you the shirt off her back), sincere, kind-hearted, strong and the most loving mom and friend a person could ask for. A month ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Although this will seem horrible for me to say to some people out there, the news of breast cancer would have been a small seed to swallow, it would be something we would be able to beat...but the doctors did some more tests and found out she has aggressive stage 4 breast cancer metastasized into the bone. Treatable but no cure, and treatment that she would have to remain on for the remainder of her life, however long that may be.  My mom was devastated when she found out, we were devastated.  We had just lost our dad a year ago, we are not ready to lose our mom (not that anyone ever is).  Thankfully we don't give up that easily and we are trying every possible treatment out there.  Our mom just started taking her chemo pills last week.  She and her doctor decided on the chemo pill since it wouldn't be so aggressive on her and so she could enjoy her life with the least possible side effects. Since there is no cure the goal is to keep the cancer under control and to prolong her life as long as possible.  We are also going to try targeted radiation laser surgery to reduce the size of the tumors, or hopefully to eliminate them all together.  If the chemo pills don't work then we move on to plan B, then to plan C, and so on until unfortunately we lose to cancer.  We know we will eventually lose the fight (starting to cry as I'm typing this) but until that happens we will not give up.  So that's the short version of what happened in the past month. Now that you know a little about our mom, we are asking for your help.  All of these treatments and medicine cost money. Grace may also not be able to work that much, or at all, because of the side effects from the chemo. We are trying to raise some money together for our mom so she doesn't have to worry about paying for her treatments or missing a day of work or just enjoying her time left with us.  We know most of the people reading this may be strangers and you don't know us and don't owe us anything, but we ask that you look into your heart and help a wonderful person in need, because it will be repaid to you someday twofold.  We also know we have a lot of loving friends and family that will read this, and we thank you for your support.
