Building New Youth Programs Abroad

Donation protected
Hello Friends!

My lifetime dream of working for youth overseas is coming true this May for the next 10 months !!!

I will be leaving then to work in Cambodia and in surrounding countries for a non-profit called Sarus.
I have a link below so you can check them out. http://sarusprogram.org

My job there will be to expand the program to include Japanese youth, as well as deepen the experiences that already exist within the program for the Cambodian and Vietnamese youth. Hopefully, this will include finding platforms for the students to problem solve active conflicts by working with the people who are experiencing the problem, and facilitating solution discussions using peace skills. I will be there until the end of September and then I am headed to Uganda, Africa.

In Uganda, I will be working with a new start-up non-profit called Propel. They are so new their website is still being developed. Propel has a vision to bring area teachers together to hold workshops/meetings on how to improve their teaching tools, such as building healthy relationships with students or how empower deeper learning and add hands on experiences outside of the classroom...etc.
Teachers in Uganda are generally very young, and have no formal training. Uganda is beginning to rebuild it's infrastructure and is ready for the big push on education. I look forward to building this teacher training curriculum with the teachers by my side, as my experts.

For the Clinton School, I am only required to stay 10 weeks, and many students choose this. But, I firmly believe that the longer I can be in the community and the more authentic relationships I can build, the more impact the new programs may have. So at Sarus, I will be there for 16 weeks, and I will be in Uganda for close to 14 weeks.

I am raising money for the travel to the countries, supplies, safe housing, all the insurance needed, several vaccinations, food, and my private education loans from undergrad which will not stop even when I am volunteering- but are minimal.
I know of few of you asked if you could donate flyer miles or points and that would be so great. Also, if anyone has an old camera in a closet that has the capicaty to take some great pictures, I would love to borrow it!

Any little bit will help from 5 dollars to 500. I am working extra shifts at the cafe I work at and will be contributing all I can to this fund too:)

Thanks for your support, love, and encouragement for all these years. I know from the many foster kids I meet in my work today and looking to my old families, not many get experiences like this, and I feel REALLY lucky to have had the opportunities that I have been given. My community has always been a constant family for me and I appreciate you more then you will ever know.

My heart is full and I am ready for what these adventures will bring!

If you have any questions- feel free to call my cell, text, or email. [phone redacted]
