Send Everett students to STEM Nationals

Everett High School is located in an urban community just north of Boston. The STEM (Science, Technology, Enginneering, and Mathematics) Club was started last school year. Students involved in this club design, test and race remote controlled cars through the TEN80 Student Racing Challenge Iniviative sponsored by the US Army and NASCAR. They have been invited to the Ten80 Student Racing Challenge National Competition in North Carolina and need your help to get there.
Everett is a low income, gateway, and working class community and without the help of gracious sponors and donors they will not be able to participate. Last year, the STEM Club competition team, EHS Crimson Bolt, was invited to the National Competition, but were unable to attend for several reasons including limited finances. Our students have worked so hard in the past year to obtain another invitation. They have won several race events and brought home First Place in the last invitational.
Through this program, students have hands on experience with the STEM content areas and several students are now showing interest in attending college to study Enginneering (Biotech, Nanotech, Mechanical, etc), Science (Biological, Environmental) and Business. Many of these students would not be familiar with these careers if it weren't for their exposure with the STEM Club. The Crimson Bolt competition team is comprised of a diverse group of students including ethnicities from around the world.
Funding will go towards travel expenses, housing arrangements and building materials for the car.
