Town of Orange Police Dept K-9 Program

Donation protected
The Town of Orange Police Department has been without a narcotics K-9 since 2007. Our officers have been working very hard to try and re-establish the program to help combat the presence of illegal drugs in our community. Regardless of your personal stance on the legalization of marijuana, we can all agree that prescription drug abuse, cocaine, methamphetamine, and the newer, even more dangerous forms of heroin are ruining our communities and the lives of people addicted to these drugs. The attached picture is "Mack", a Lab/Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix who is currently 20 months old.  Mack was adopted from an animal shelter in Virginia. Mack has been tested by certified police K-9 trainers, and has been determined to be suitable for narcotics detection training. We are trying to raise money for the start up of the K-9 program, which includes the cost of training and certification for Mack and his handler, as well as vet care, food, insurance and K-9 handler fees. We are hoping to make our K-9 program self-sustaining each year by doing continued fundraising programs. Mack will also be very active in community crime prevention presentations in the schools.  Thank you for your support!Mack and the officers of the Town of Orange Police Department
