Friends, family, businesses and all those who follow our story,

I am partnering with a local non-profit organization, Launching Arrows, to help bring a dream a reality for those with intellectual or physical disabilities in our community. As many of you know, the last several years I have taken up running and triathlon alongside mourning the death of several family members and coping with the daily struggles of raising a child with disabilities. Recently, I have been inspired by those in the triathlon community to take it a step further and look for ways for my son, Keegan, to join me or join other racers in local events.

It is my dream that through this fundraising initiative to purchase several of these carts for not only Keegan but all those with disabilities in the community to be able to be a part of races that they couldn't do so previously. It is my full intention to line up runners and triathletes with families to make those dreams a reality.

Would you prayerfully consider partnering with me and sharing this story all over the nation?

So many of you have helped us prayerfully and financially in the past and for that reason I hesitated to post this, but over the course of a few months I feel nudged to do this for a much bigger purpose. Thank you.... each of you, for walking (and hopefully now running) beside us.

Blessings,
Susan and Keegan on behalf of #TeamKeegs

In 2012 my husband and I gave birth to our fourth child- a dream we had shared together since our engagement years.  In 2014 we began to notice Keegan changing in his behaviors and lose the language he had started to speak and in August he was diagnosed with an intellectual disability as well as autism. This mother’s heart was crushed as her baby no longer looked her in the eyes, gave the affection of a typical developing child or shared the words he used to speak.

However, Keegan LOVES going on walks still but is quickly outgrowing his adaptive stroller and he is too large to fit in our Burley behind the bike.  With the addition of an adaptive cart or TWO or MORE,  Keegan and other kids like him with intellectual or physical disabilities can find themselves in races as well.   Our goal is to help make it a reality for any child wishing to be included in a race to be matched with a racer to hep them achieve that goal.

This concept enables ALL people to be an athlete and participate in something that everyone else takes for granted.  Please consider joining me in starting this initiative for the community of Pella.   We have partnered with a local nonprofit, Launching Arrows, to help make this dream a reality for inclusion of all those interested in participating!
