Over the past few years, I—along with many around me—have felt a mix of anger, hopelessness, and sorrow for the Palestinian people. Both the United States and Germany have left us feeling even more unheard and angry due to their repression of voices for peace, their disregard for our cries for a ceasefire and the release of humanitarian aid, and their continued choice to incite further violence.

In a time when equality looks so different from one person to the next—across gender, identity, ethnicity, and nationality—the freedom of mobility is a privilege only some of us can comprehend.

I am raising funds for Haneen Koraz, an artist in Gaza who works with children, women, and people with disabilities through storytelling and animation. Her work is deeply meaningful to me because of the escape she offers children through stop motion and animation storytelling, while also providing them with emotional tools and resources to help them express and make sense of what they are currently experiencing.

I aim to raise funds by using my freedom of mobility to participate in an ultra-marathon relay race on June 12–13, 2025, with a personal goal of running over 80 km (approx. 50 miles). For every kilometer I run, I will donate two euros to Haneen and her work. The race will take place from Thursday at 4 a.m. in Poland and end at sunset on Friday. During this time, I will dedicate each kilometer I run to Haneen, the community she looks after, and her inspiring work, which provides an outlet for processing the atrocities currently—and unjustly—faced by people across Palestine.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to Haneen Koraz in Gaza, which I will transfer to her via her own GoFundMe.
