Ali’s battle

Donation protected
On September 11, 2017, our family experienced one of the greatest heartbreak’s of our life. Our daughter attempted to end her life. At just 13 years old, we couldn’t understand why she felt that way. She was hospitalized for a week and just four days after she was released to come home, she tried to take her life again. She spent some more time in the hospital and then we enrolled her in a day treatment program. She participated in that program for 5 weeks and the insurance company told us she was doing well enough to go back to her regular school. I knew she wasn’t ready, I remember crying uncontrollably as they processed her discharge with me. Just two days after discharging, she attempted suicide again. At this point, she was readmitted for inpatient hospitalization for a third time and was there for a month until she was able to transfer to a long term residential facility where she is now. I am happy to say that she is making great progress there, but she has a long road still ahead of her. She is incredibly strong. She is a fighter! She is absolutely beautiful; inside and out!!! She is creative, hilarious and so kind to others. She has an incredible gift to perceive how others are feeling and help them feel loved and cheer them up when they are down. I miss her more than anything and this is the hardest battle I have had to fight in my life. Only she can do the work necessary to heal, but I can give her the best shot at healing by giving her the treatment that she needs so desperately.
I want to thank all of those who have supported us already, financially or otherwise! We have felt your prayers and love so much! We are eternally grateful! That being said, the bills have become overwhelming and over the last three months, I have not been able to work as I was juggling being at the hospital with Ali and being there for my other two daughters.
If you would like to support us in other ways, prayer, thoughts, phone calls and other love is deeply welcome!!!
