Jackie's Fight to Breathe!

Hi guys, My name is Jackie and at the age of 10 years old I was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and related Diabetes. I am now 22 years old, and this has all been relatively easy to deal with ...until now. These past 6 months I have been diagnosed with a brain injury causing hypersomina (increased daytime sleep) and multiple infections including ABPA (allergic broncopulmonary aspergillosis), pseudomonas, stenotrophomonas, h. influenzae, group C streptococcus, mycelia sterlia (fungus), and most important, b. cepacia. In simple english, this means my lung functions have been severely declining along with my ability to carry on doing simple daytime treatments to help me. I've been hospitalized 4 times in the past 9 months with no improvement, and this has been one of the most traumatising medical years of my life. Cystic Fibrosis is debilitating (meaning it will get worse) and in the time to come, I will need a double lung transplant from an organ donor, or at minimum, a living-related lobar lung transplant. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover the full extent of transplants anymore and the months I have had to take time out of work have been extremely detrimental to my household's income. Most of the time, I do not have a say in this matter or even another choice due to being highly susceptible to frequent infections, needing an enormous amount of rest to heal, spending time in the post-op unit to heal after multiple surgeries, and needing to constantly follow up with an enormous amount of doctors and test results. Like most of you, I barely live within my means and I would never ask for donations from those who cannot afford it, so please, the tiniest bit counts, even if it is just words of encouragement. Due to lack of research and money, all CFers need this kind of help, so please keep myself and them in mind. Again, I appreciate absolutely everything that comes through, and I pray that I will be able to stay stable and find the energy and strength to keep fighting!
