A Second Wind

Donation protected
For those of you who don't know, in 2012 Karen received her first lung transplant. After recovering and about a year of not being on oxygen, her body went into rejection. She struggled to catch her breath, and everyday movements, like walking to the car, became an exhausting chore. She was not ready to give up. Through well placed connections from doctors (and God), she had the opportunity to seek a new transplant. She will have to travel to Phoenix, Arizona for the surgery and recovery. This is the reason for the need to seek help from others who are willing and able. She will have to stay in Arizona for about three months following the procedure while her doctors monitor the transplant closely. We are tring to raise money to help offset the cost of lodging, food, travel expenses, and medical bills. Your gifts, prayers, and well wishes are greatly appreciated and encouraging.

On Wednesday, Feb. 18th she was flown to Arizona and on Thursday she was accepted and listed for transplant. The procedure could be at any moment.

If you have any questions or just want to connect, let me know. I am not alone in being very proud of my mom for going through this grueling experience again. It is not easy for her. We all love her and are excited for her to get back to her active self again.

Thank you for your support.
