Chloe's Diabetic Alert Dog

Donation protected
It's two am and I'm performing the nightly blood sugar test on my 9-year old daughter, Chloe.  Chloe was diagnosed with type one diabetes at the age of seven.  This is a life changing disease.  As a single mom the fears and worries of Chloe having a seizures or blackouts caused by extreme high or low blood sugars is constant.  These fears play on myself but more so limit Chloe's independence.  To give us both some piece of mind and her independence I am raising funds ($20,000) for a Diabetic Alert Dog.
These dogs are trained to recognize out of range blood sugars and alert Chloe before a life threatening problem occurs.  This would allow Chloe to be more independent and have more freedom.  Picking her up from school with sugars so low she is close to seizure levels would not happen.  Chloe loves riding her bike and playing at the park.  We stop often to check blood sugar levels.  With a dog the testing would be less frequent.  Knowing that she has a companion that can detect the high and lows gives her freedom to go.
The dog would be a constant companion and would give us both a sigh of relief.

Thanks for taking the time to read Chloe's story.
