Send Archaea Tree Ensemble to Fresh Inc!

We, the Archaea Tree Ensemble, have accepted an offer to attend the Fresh Inc Festival this summer from June 9-22, 2014. Fresh Inc is a one-of-a-kind chamber music festival run by the Fifth House Ensemble aiming to redefine the training process for emerging musicians like us. Both composers and instrumentalists are invited to spend two weeks creating performance experiences for audiences of all types, covering both standard repertoire and freshly inked music. This amazing opportunity includes performing as the Archaea Tree Ensemble at venues including the Milwaukee Art Museum, Make Music Chicago, Constellation, Bedford Concert Hall, and the Boys and Girls Club of Kenosha; attending training sessions in the basics of starting a new arts venture, including strategic planning, generating earned and contributed income, networking, freelancing, and marketing; and further developing our professional portfolio by gaining feedback on our artist statement, marketing materials, business plan model, and taking headshots provided by SnoStudios Photography.
As with any professional music festival, the opportunity is amazing, but the tuition cost is high. The Fresh Inc tuition includes instruction, headshots, housing, and all meals for the duration of the festival provided by UW-Parkside. Tuition is $2000 per person, $6000 total for us. We graciously accepted a $1000 scholarship per person leaving our tuition costs at an additional $1000 per person, $3000 total. We have also already submitted a confirmation deposit of $500 per person, leaving us with an additional $500 per person plus transporation (~$500 for Jen's plane ticket from Los Angeles to Chicago and gas to and from Urbana, IL to Kenosha, WI) to pay, totalling at $2000!
Any donation to help us raise the remaining $2000 will be so appreciated! We are committed to sharing our music with as many people as possible and as a sincere "Thank you" from us, we will send an MP3 of one of our performances after the Fresh Inc festival commences to everyone who helped make this opportunity a reality!

HOW FRESH INC WILL HELP:
o Helping develop a sustainable business model consistent with the Ensemble's artistic goals.
o Developing friendships with potential future collaborators
o Working on musical excellence and ensemble techniques
o Developing a unique voice for our Ensemble
o Developing sustainable educational programs and presentational techniques
FUNDING BREAKDOWN:
Tuition Cost: $2000 per person, $6000 total
Fresh Inc Scholarship: $1000 per person, $3000 total
Downpayment: $500 per person, $1500 total
Remaining Payment: $500 per person, $1500 total
Travel Cost: $~500 for Jen's flight & gas to and from Urbana, IL and Kenosha, Wisconsin

Our current ensemble consists of a dynamic instrumentation of harp, flute, and percussion by performers Erin Brooker, Jennifer Shanahan, and Andy Miller respectively. As an ensemble, we seek to explore a diverse range of classical, contemporary, and folk music in new and unique performance settings as well as generate new works through collaborating with living composers, artists, and dancers.
