Jaki's Medical Fund

Hi everyone.

I'm not entirely sure where to start. There's a lot of details.. I'll be discussing in great detail a lot of medical problems so if that kinda thing makes you uncomfortable please use caution when reading. I will be posting links of MRI pictures and discussing sensitive information about my bodys health.

About Me

Some of you know me as Jaclyn, some of you will know me as Coffee. I'm a freelance artist who went on hiatus for almost a year to work a full time job. My goal was to fix my credit, build a savings and be debt free by the end of the year. My hope was to return to school next year and finish my animation degree.

I am with a wonderful man named Oliver, some of you may know him as Owl. We have three cats and enjoy watching trashy reality TV.  We have been together for almost 8 years. He is my best friend and my rock and has been a huge emotional help for me through all of this.

Diagnosis and current state
I have recently become extremely overwhelmed with medical bills. I was diagnosed with a 5cm solid mass Endometrioma and a small simple cyst in my left ovary. I will be having 6-12 hour surgury in November to remove these masses. My surgeon said I have a 30% chance of losing the ovary. I will be having 2 nerves in my cervix deadened as well to diffuse any further cervical irritation. The cause of it is unknown.

During the MRI I was taken aback by a sudden diagnosis of Degenerate Disc Disease (DDD) and found that I had a herniated disc at my L5/S1. That will be addressed with a few months of physical therapy, luckily I caught it early and may not need surgury for that.

The Journey Thus Far --

On July 8th
I was having severe abdominal pain and difficulty going to the restroom, I decided to go to the minute clinic at CVS to check if I had a UTI. It was negative, and was told because of the pain I should get checked into the ER.

Later that evening I went.  I received a CT scan and was told my IUD was far too low into my cervix. ( It's the form of birth control I was using)

They also found a mass in my abdomen and suggested I have an ultrasound done and make an appointment with my obgyn to have the IUD removed and have my cervix looked into further.

On July 17th I had my IUD removed and experienced extreme pain with the removal and exam.  The attempt to put a new IUD in had failed due my extreme pain. I was given antibiotics for my cervical inflammation and referred to an imaging center for an ultrasound.

On July 26th I had a pelvic and internal ultrasound done.  The following week I had received my results.

On August 1st I went in for a pelvic MRI and was told about the herniated disc.

MRI scan of L5/S1 herniated disc.

MRI images of the ovary vs the mass
Green X is the ovary, red X is the endometrioma.

On August 24th
I was referred to a surgeon and had my consultation. Surgery is estimated for mid-November. Waiting for a call back to schedule.
