My Washington DC Trip
Hi, this is Cameron and in March of 2014 I have the opportunity to go to Washington D.C. with my 8th grade class at Saint Leo the Great School. Each year our 8th grade class is afforded the opportunity to spend a week in Washington D.C. and March will be the 22nd year for this program. I am asking for donations for my trip.
This will not only be a fun trip but an educational one as well. Did you know that Washington D.C. is not a state but a unique federal district created by Congress to be the seat of our nation's government? It is often referred to as the "Capital city of the United States." Our trip to Washington D.C. will include visiting the following places:
- The Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery
- The Holocaust Museum
- The Grounds of Capital Hill
- The Supreme Court
- The White House
- The National Museum of Natural History
- The Lincoln Memorial where Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech
There will be many other places we will visit as well where we will receive hands-on lessons on American History. I am really excited about going.
The cost for this exciting experience is $2,400. This includes airfare, transportation, lodging, meals, and all educational activities. My school is using World Strides to organize our trip (www.worldstrides.org). I am asking for donations for what I believe would be a wonderful class trip. Would you please help defray the cost of this trip by sending me a donation of any amount? I would really appreciate it.
The trip is approaching fast, so if you want to donate please do so before March 24, 2014. Of course, today would be great.

Oh, and if you do decide to help me let me know if you want me to add your name as my supporter to a letter I will deliver to the White House for President Obama.
