As you may know, I started a yoga teacher training program in October and my experience so far has been life changing. Yoga has saved me in more ways and in more times than I can articulate, but what I am doing right now is shedding old skin and living life with greater clarity.
You may know my story. I have two beautiful children that I do the best I can to raise, but it is stressful to be the sole provider for my family. Practicing yoga not only helps to relieve this stress, but also enables me to be more centered and present for my children - to be happier and more at peace. Seeing the positive impact that yoga has had on my own corner of the world I was motivated to become a teacher to help others to share in this experience.
It is emotionally, physically and financially challenging to work full-time, raise a family, and attend classes, but it is all worth it for my children's happiness and to honor my own happiness as well. Going through this yoga teacher training program shows my children that it's never too late to do what makes you happy, and to make a better life for yourself and your loved ones.
I didn't even think I could do this! There were so many questions: Who would watch the kids? How was I going to pay for this? When will I find the time to study and practice?
I have been blessed to have help from my amazingly supportive father and stepmother, who understand needing to make changes to live a better life. Just having my dad's emotional support alone gave me the courage to do this, and I can never thank him enough.
However, the expenses of paying for my courses, having to occasionally take off of work, paying for childcare, and all of the necessities of life are beginning to mount up and I find myself needing to ask for additional help.
I understand that this is financially a tight time of year for everyone, but any gesture, though not expected, would be profoundly appreciated.
It is very hard for me to ask for help in this way, but I decided to just put it out there with no expectations. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am truly honored and look forward to a time when I will be able to return your generosity.
