It was a sunny day last July when I, Anna (my now-wife) and Clara, our beautiful 2-month-old daughter were on our first family outing.
The next day, however, started the fight of my life. Despite very few symptoms and being just 37-years-old at the time, I had been diagnosed with peritoneally metastatic colon cancer at a very advanced stage.
Knowing that this is highly unusual for someone to suffer from this form of the disease at such a young age, we were beyond devastated. Our dream start to our young family was being cruelly taken away from us.
With the support of Anna and Clara, I have since faced multiple scans, surgeries, procedures, chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
I’m a fighter, but just seven months later, it looks like cancer is winning.
Please help us fund this fight against cancer. Your generosity will pay to support my mounting medical treatment bills. Should the worst outcome be realised, remaining funds will be used to support Clara's education and upbringing.
All of this was completely unexpected. If it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone. Don't wait for symptoms to appear - in my case, they didn't. Get checked and encourage others to do the same.
