Global Health trip to Haiti

I am raising money for the hope that I will be able to take part in a service learning trip in Haiti this summer, from July 26th-August 4th. I will be staying in a hostel, in a small town, with 10 other teens from across the country.

In 2010 there was a devastating eathquake that Haiti is sadly still recovering from. This trip will help these communities with essential medical care, clean water, and safe shelter.

During these 10 days I will have the opportunity to assist and shadow professional doctors. I will also help build a  school out of recycled materials as well as assist in biulding a  clean water system.

This service learning trip will be very intense, and amazing. It is extremely important that I do it. I want to do this because I live a very priviledged life and I feel it's time that I help others who are less priviledged. I want to go because I will not only learn how people in Haiti live their every day life and immerse myself in Haitian culture, but I will be learning very important life lessons.

An experience like this is once in a lifetime, and one that will really open my eyes, but more importantly, one that will help the lives of others.
