Lori’s fight against rare cancer

Donation protected
Lori Becicka has been diagnosed with rare terminal stage 4 transitional renal cell urothelial carcinoma metastasized to lymph, adrenals, and bone.

She is a proud mother of 4 adult children and as a single parent has been taking care and started the adoption process of 4 of her grandchildren since September 2012 when they were the ages of 8,7,6, and 4. The adoption was finalized in October of 2013. She had quit her beloved nursing career to be able to care for them full time.

In August of 2018 she had started having excrutiating pain in her right kidney. After getting no answers in northern Mn she was referred to the University of Minnesota in September of 2018. After receiving a stent in her kidney to her bladder to help relieve kidney pain, five biopsies, and numerous CT scans, they had performed a bone scan and two days later a Pet scan. The results of the scan found cancer in her lymph nodes, adrenals, skull, ribs, spine, femur, and hips. At this point they confirmed metastasis cancer but the origin was still unknown. In January of 2019, Lori had made her own appointment to go to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Mn to finally get some answers. After 3 days at the Mayo Clinic she had finally received a diagnosis. She started high risk chemo in Hibbing, Mn in the beginning of February 2019. She is on her 3rd round of 6.

All money donated is to go for the financial strain thishas  put on her and her family. In the event she passes sooner than anticipated the money will go to the adopted children.
