Help Us Fight Cancer

Hello everyone,
This summer has been interesting.  It started off great until we went to the dentist.  My wife asked the dentist why a sore in her mouth wasn't going away, so we tried a few quick treatments.  When the sore didn't get any better, the next step was to get a biopsy , so we did.  We thought it was great timing, since my insurance was ending on the 30th of June, and we started the process at the beggining of June.

The biopsy came back, and we found out that she had severe dysplasia.  This was good news since it hadn't turned to cancer yet, but we did have to get a lazer tongue surgery.  They cut part of her tongue out, and burned her tongue and we thought it was over.  At the beggining of July (after the insurance expired), we received a call that the part of the tongue that she had removed ended up being cancerous.  We now needed to go and have a larger chunk removed, and even a larger area burned away.

All the meanwhile, I my work had some budget cuts, so I was laid off during the summer.  Not only did we lose the insurance, but we only had one income coming in.  We applied for medicade, but they said, since we made to much money the last couple of months, we wouldn't qualify.  I then found out just a week ago, that I will not return to work until the beginning
of the year in 2018.

After the second surgery, everything came back great.  The only issue now is the return of the cancer.  They said since she doesn't smoke, drink, and is healthy and young, that it was very odd that she got oral cancer.  Since this occured, they said that we will need to watch for this cancer very very closely for the next year.  We will have visits every six weeks to check on it, and we will have to keep an eye on it for the rest of her life.

Since we had no insurance, we did apply for a sliding scale, and the hospital was generous enough to write off close to $100,000.  We were left with about $7,000 in bills and many visits in the future we will need to pay for.  I'm asking for $10,000 for the bills, and any bill yet to come in, including the upcoming trips to seattle to see the doctor for the next year.

We would like to get this taken care of as soon as possible and would like to thank anyone and everyone willing to help us out.
