Kyla Brown's Acute Leukemia Benefit Fund

This account was set up for Kyla Brown. The funds raised through these donations will be used to help pay for medical bills, bone marrow transplant expenses, transportation and housing and any other expenses that is incurred as she continues her battle with acute leukemia.
Back around Sept 2013, Kyla was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome. At this time she took a leave of absence from her job. She has had several long hospital stays in Hunt Memorial up until jan. 2014. She would come home and go back to the hospital for platlets. In January we were able to get her admitted to T Boone Pickens Cancer hospital in Baylor Dallas. They begin to treat for the Myelodysplastic Syndrome when they did some additional bloodwork and revised the diagnosis to Acute Leukemia in late Jan. 2014. They immediately put her on a chemo program that ran for 7 days. It was successful in stopping the cancer for about 7 additional days then it began to grow again. This last batch was a lot stronger and came with additional side affects.
While Kyla was receiving chemo treatments for leukemia sunday Feb. 9th, Kyla started having a migrane headache. The doctors ordered a CT Scan later in the afternoon and found that she had a blood vessel burst in her head. The doctors had to do an emergency surgery to relieve the pressure and stop the bleeding to save her life.. Thankfully, she made it through the surgery and has now been moved back over to T Boone Pickens Cancer Hospital to fight the leukemia and move forward with the bone marrow transplant process.
Kyla lost her mom at age 35 to cancer. She herself has battled non hodgkins lymphoma and survived 13 years ago and now this! Although she made it through the anyeurism, she still has a huge fight on her hands with this leukemia. So, help if you can.. and share this page with your friends to help us get the word out.
