Dreaming Reality by Caitlin Quinn

I have spent a lot of time in my 16 years trying to figure out the essential question of "Who am I? Who do I want to be?" 16 years I have lived life filled with an internal struggle as my light fights to illuminate against the darker shadows of my divorced family life that has threatened to suffocate my mother, sister, and me. 16 years that light flickered in the depths of a haunted abyss struggling to grow brighter to forge a path clear enough that my dreams could become so illuminated they become reality.

Dance:  there are no words to describe the ecstatic rush that pulses through my soul when I allow myself to be the movement. I become the dance that has touched my soul, that has the potential to touch other souls in the purest of ways. I become the medium to express a hidden meaning that lingers under physical movements. I could never be able to become the artist I am if I hadn't followed my light through the dark, followed the light to my soul's true passion. My evolution and rebirths throughout my childhood had the constant of dance, of bringing my internal revelations and my relations to our world out through dance.  The passionate fire of dance continues to morph me into the woman that I am becoming, the person I want to be, and the artist that I am.

In the midst of all the chaos of my childhood, my mother and sister have been there by my side fighting for my dreams & for my evolution so that I can one day step into the full realization of my dreams and share my light with the world.  My light has grown brighter and brighter, my path to living my dreams has become clearer. My dream has become a step closer to reality by gaining acceptance to The Ailey School Summer Intensive 2014. This incredible school represents the next step in my training to become a professional dancer, to share with the world that which has influenced me.

I have been very blessed throughout the years that my mother and sister have sacrificed to financially provide me with invaluable dance training.  I have been very blessed in the excellent instructors and opportunities I have had to date.  To continue on the next steps of my journey I need to help my Mom raise the money for my tuition and housing expenses.  My mother and sister have shared in my dreams for years, struggling and fighting for me.  I know they cannot bring this next step into fruition on their own.  We are inviting you to share in my dream to help me take the next step in bringing my passion for dance to a new level.
