On January 6th 2014, Corey and I welcomed our son Cooper into the world..9 days later, on our first day out together as a family (since I had a cesarean section birth) my husband was struck by a drunk driver while filling our car with a gas can. This life changing event has left my husband with a traumatic brain injury, and has left me to be his only care giver and advocate, as well as a single mom. Corey is still in a rehabilitation facility where he is receiving occupational, physical, speech, and mental health therapy. He is able to talk, but cannot walk yet. He is being fed through a j tube, and cannot eat or drink orally at this point. Corey also suffers from hydrocephalus for which he has had a VP shunt surgery.

In addition to not knowing how full of a recovery my husband will make, there are the expenses associated with day to day life. I am Corey's only support system. Without my presence, his health declines and I am also the one in charge of dealing with the attorneys, doctors, and case managers. We have a very small support system..It is literally just me taking care of everything for Corey.

I humbly ask you to help our family in any way you can..we are struggling, and it is not easy to ask for help, but we need it..we are barely able to make ends meet, and I don't know how long I will be able to keep us afloat without additional support.
